At Car and Caravan we’re here to help you with the products you require. We can offer you great value products but also an extensive awning assessment service. 

Who Are We?

Car and Caravan is based in Preston, Lancashire in the North West. Car and Caravan is part of GAP Convenience Distribution Ltd.  Established in 1979, GAP became an expert in the supply of car accessories and lubricants, In 2011 the GAP business was bought by James Hall & Co Ltd and moved to its current premises located in Preston, and out of its success the GAP internet brands were born, they include Car and Caravan, Marine Supplies Direct and Straight2You. 

Why?

We understand how difficult it can be to determine which awning is best as there are so many factors that play in selecting the correct Awning such as Wheel base length, roof racks, age of the vehicle and which brackets you need to attach it to the vehicle.

What is an Awning Assessment ?

The Awning Assessment Service will ensure that the products you buy from us are correct for the vehicle you own. We will measure your vehicle, check which brackets you will require and advise on which Awnings or Caravanstore that would best suit the vehicle. We offer the assessment for Campervans, Caravans, Vans and Van Conversions. 

We can also advise on which Bike Racks can be fitted to your vehicle, and which additional items relate to the awning being purchased  such as blockers, Tie Downs and Side Panels and lights.  

Once the assessment is complete we can place the order for you or you can place the order yourself. the £15.99 for the assessment will be deducted from your Awning Price. If you do decide to order at home we will provide you with paperwork with the Fiamma part codes along with our part numbers so you can have everything you need. 

How Do You Book an Assessment?

We will ask you to book a Date and Time Slot for your assessment. Once you have selected your preferred time and date you will need to check out. you will be charged £15.99 for the service, however if you do purchase the awning from us you will receive £15.99 off your order.

Where are we Located ?

If you are Northbound we are located just of the m6 if you come off at  junction 31A. After the slip road you will come off the 1st exit on the roundabout with Land Rover n the left side. Go under the motorway bridge and at the 2nd set of lights there will be a roundabout, take the 3rd exit and in 1000 yards take the first left then an immediate left and you will arrive at our gates. The Gates will say Marine Supplies Direct, this is our chandlery where the assessment will take place. Once at the gate please call us on 01772 708129.

If you are southbound you will need to come off at junction 32 and follow the A road to us. 

Virtual Appointments 

If you are unable to visit us we do offer the Assessment virtually. We can do it on Teams or Zoom whatever works best for you. the only thing we ask is you have a tape measure to hand so we can ensure we are getting the right awning for your vehicle. We will also answer any questions you have regarding awnings, upkeep and maintenance. At the end of the appointment we will send over a report of what items you would require along with appropriate accessories for your vehicle,
